Limits for global plan

Hello, I would like to offer hosting accounts with multiple sites that have a global consumption limit, meaning the entire plan would have a maximum of 4GB of RAM, 2 CPUs, and 50GB of disk space.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Could it be implemented or is it impossible by design?

In the future this will be possible, with the obvious caveat that the sites would need to be on the same server.

For now the best solution is to give the customer their own small virtual machine with those specs. Create a dedicated package in Enhance and subscribe the customer to that package.

Does this mean if I gave the user 5websites, all of them get 4GB of RAM, 2 CPUs, and 50GB or each one of them get 4GB of RAM, 2 CPUs, and 50GB.

Adam This is what we do, however, we have our own cloud infrastructure. I am not sure this idea works well for those with more limited resources. Is there any way, looking to the future, that the "all on one server" limitation can be overcome? Just asking for a friend... 😉

Thanks, that's how we do it now, but we were looking at the possibility of not having to provision virtual machines per user.

Since I understand that it is not compatible with LXC at the moment and a good solution (i prefer) would be the limit per plan.

Are you sure that at the development level it is possible? I have a doubt that it is possible due to the design of the limits themselves, since a site is a container.

The current behaviour is that the resource limits are applied per website.

It will be possible in future to provide a package-level hard limit, subject to the websites being on the same server.

If the sites are on the same server then yes it's possible because the websites can be placed within a single "subscription" cgroup. They will still be individually namespaced.

I don't think that's possible if you want a hard limit which all the websites share.

This is how I understand it, the resource limits are per website, the disk usage is global per plan.
