Hello everyone. Greetings from Indonesia. I'm a new user here. After being satisfied with Runcloud for 5 years, I decided to move everything to Enhance, which I recently set up on my server.
I would like to share how I migrate WordPress websites, most of which I managed on Runcloud and Fastpanel, using the Migrate Guru plugin. This plugin is incredibly cool, robust, and easy to use. Thanks to it, I even started offering WordPress website migration services and have been able to migrate 5-20 client websites in a month.
Why Migrate Guru?
- Free of charge
- No downtime
- Nothing gets left behind
- Minimal pre- and post-migration configuration
- Let's get started!
Part 1: Steps to Perform on Your Enhance Server
- Install WordPress (a requirement for Migrate Guru).
- Enter the domain you will use for the migration (you can use a different domain, but this tutorial assumes you use the same domain).
- The username and password used during installation here are temporary and do not need to be complex.
Assuming the installation is complete, now create an FTP account.
- Click FTP > Add Account
- Fill in the username and password for FTP, and leave the Directory Path blank or ignore it.
Part 2: Steps to Perform on Your WordPress Dashboard
Required: Install & activate the Migrate Guru plugin.
Execution:
- Click Migrate Guru on the Sidebar menu.
- Enter your email > Check "I agree to BlogVault's Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy" > Click MIGRATE.
- Click OTHER HOST > Manually Input Host Details.
Enter your Enhance (destination server) details:
- Destination Site URL: Enter the domain of the site being migrated (same as in Part 1)!
- FTP Type: FTP
- Destination Server IP/FTP Address: Enter your Enhance server's IP. blank PORT!
- FTP Username: Enter the FTP username created earlier.
- Password: Enter the FTP password created earlier.
- Directory Path: /public_html
- Click MIGRATE
Wait for the process; if the entered details are valid, you will receive an email notification that the migration has started. DO NOT UPDATE ANY CONTENT!
After the migration is complete, update your domain's IP to the new IP. Don't forget to reactivate SSL if you were using it previously.
Good luck!
Disclaimer:
Make a backup before performing any technical actions. I am not responsible for any failures. After the migration is complete and the IP is changed, it is advisable not to delete the files on the server immediately. Wait for 48 hours (until the propagation is fully completed).
Thank you.
