Yes, that is coming this week. To avoid these kinds of issues, if the update fails, it will automatically failover to the previous version. Stability is our top priority now.

Both of your suggestions have been incorporated into version 3.1.4, which was released today:

Automatic Fallback on Update Failure – We’ve introduced a robust fallback mechanism that automatically restores the previous version of cPFence if the update process fails. This ensures that cPFence remains operational even in the event of an update error.

Email Notification on Successful Update – An email notification feature has been implemented that sends a confirmation email upon successful cPFence updates. This notification can be enabled or disabled via the SEND_CPF_UPDATE_NOTIFICATION setting in the configuration file. The default setting is enabled.

I tested BitNinja on two VPS servers. Before installation, the RAM usage was 19% and 42%. After installing BitNinja, the usage jumped to 59% and 74%, which is an increase of 40% and 32%. This shows a significant rise in RAM consumption.

Also, BitNinja only supports EXIM right now, so it won't effectively detect outbound spam for users using other mail transfer agents, like Postfix on the Enhance cluster.

Are you sure? If Yes, we will keep it and continue monitoring.! Also, what are your thoughts on Outbound Spam Detection? Since BitNinja doesn't support Postfix, the Outgoing Email Analysis feature wouldn't be effective. Additionally, BitNinja currently only protects against outgoing SPAM and doesn't safeguard against incoming threats via email.

pratik_asabe I also found Bitninja heavy on ram usage.
I have tested Bitninja a few times to see if resource usage had improved but it has not.

Test yesterday:
The only services enabled on Bitninja were WAF and Port Honeypot everything else was set to off.

1 Core VPS 2 GB Ram 30GB NVMe
Has enhance control panel role with average memory use is around 50 - 55% max

Installed Bitninja after about 2 minutes the VPS crashed, and memory usage was above 97%. I waited about an hour and usage was still the same and the panel unresponsive.

2nd test VPS has the same specs apart from 130GB additional NVMe disk with backup role, same provider, and different DC. Average ram usage 50% installed Bitninja and usage was above 85%

uninstalled and added cPFence

Using cPFence the usage sits around 58.66% on VPS #1 and VPS #2 at 49.21%

pratik_asabe I installed the free antivirus from cPFence on a test email role VPS yesterday, so far what I have seen is it moves the files to a quarantine folder, if you have email report enabled it will send a log. @cPFence will need to clarify on auto cleanup

Yet to test all other possible features, again this has minimal resource usage as well.

Thank you! UI integration will be available as soon as the Enhance team makes the API available. For now, you can use the CLI, which is designed to offer both advanced features and ease of use.

Yes, the free cPFence antivirus has auto malware detection and quarantine. The antivirus module is essentially the same as in the paid version, with powerful, hourly updated signatures just the same. However, proactive mode is only available in the paid version.

Proactive mode detects and quarantines malware on the spot, while the free version detects and quarantines on an hourly basis. The good news is that if you're running a small 4GB VPS, it's recommended to disable proactive mode anyway to keep RAM usage low and achieve optimal performance.

Thank you for your interest in our software. A unified web management interface is not currently on our roadmap, but this may change if there is high demand. If we do implement it, it will be optional, as many of our clients prioritize GDPR compliance and prefer no active connections between a central management server and their own servers.

However, as mentioned before the integrated Enhance UI is definitely on our roadmap and will be available as soon as the API becomes available. cPFence prices are already among the lowest. You may want to check out our bulk license offers or commit to longer terms to receive even greater discounts. Thanks.

I have checked all the client feedback and your responses, and I must say your support looks promising. I have also compared cPFence with other Enhance-compatible security services. It stands out as the only security service dedicated to the Enhance Panel.

The only shortcoming I found is the unified web management interface. Do you have any plans or a roadmap to integrate a UI in the near future?

Another observation is that your pricing is a bit high compared to other services based on Management UI. I believe it would be beneficial if you could follow the Enhance pricing model.

This is correct, it is accessed via command line on the local server or with email notifications.
It's very straightforward and well documented however.

No issue if you want a set and forget solution, if you are a statistics snob and like pretty graphs managed via a web-interface then cPGuard guard may be more suitable for you needs.

No, cPFence currently doesn’t have a GUI, but it will be integrated once the Enhance team makes it available. The GUI will include more statistics, graphs, and a WAF rule builder and management interface. Thanks.

regarding security I'm interested in:

Doing it's job as good as possible
Doing it's job as silently as possible (overhead).

I briefly tested both. What I found strange on cPGuard is no logs? or I just did not find them.
Both appear to be nice. I didn't check the overhead yet.

Maybe steer the conversation back to the original topic. Hearing about different tools is great, but when vendors use hijack a thread for promotion, it feels a bit off and honestly makes me less interested in their services due to the sales tactics.

Honestly, I just thought, "Why not throw our service into the mix?" since all other products were already being mentioned. elcapitanph I noticed today that BitNinja is detecting users and billing based on their detection. My bill is double now because every website is added to the email role, so I am billed for the website on the application server and the website on the email server.

I have sent an email to see if this was/is intentional on their part.
