Nickske00 You're right, the control panel migration feature will allow you to move the control panel role to another server in your Enhance cluster.

We have planned for a control panel replication feature which will replicate the control panel role to another server in your cluster. If needed, this server can be promoted to the primary cp server.

If both of those fail you, shortly you will be able to export full Enhance backups (logins, customers, websites etc) and import them to another Enhance cluster.

The problem with your setup is, if you have a lot of servers and websites and ONLY the control panel server dies (let's say only that server catches fire and is total loss), you'll need to setup a whole new cluster to import everything from the backups... This can't be the ideal solution..

The ideal solution would be to install a fresh control panel server and have it import all the old data (servers, settings, customers, websites etc) from a backup and be up and running again when the import is finished.

+1, this is exactly how it should be done. The websites can be restored from the current backup system, but all other data (including the orchd database and any other configurations) should be restored directly from a backup as well.

It can just be another server in your cluster, it doesn't need to be dedicated as a control panel replica.

We are considering additional backup/restore options for the control panel server in addition to the replication. This is made substantially easier with version 12.0.0.

While missed deadlines are certainly not a disappointment, with a major upgrade like 12.0 I am perfectly happy with Enhance taking their time to make sure that this ready and tested.

Many companies rush development and ship features with a horrible codebase that "will get fixed later" They never get fixed and this repeats with a bunch of "temp" fixes until eventually the entire project needs a rewrite thanks to technical debt.

Adding new features correctly in a stable and future proof way usually takes way longer and is the result of good leadership that don't have project managers saying "just ship it as is"

That said... it feels like their team is way too small for what they are trying to do. However it takes a LOT of time and manhours to get a devs to useful levels in a complex codebase.

Knowing all that, it takes only 1 person to communicate a realistic roadmap. I'm not expecting development miracles. The whole issue with frustration on this topic is that on-estimate delivery of about 100% of the previous roadmaps has failed for over a year. It's a communication issue, not a development issue.

By now I'm probably not the only one looking at roadmap updates thinking "yeah, right....."

JohnB The longer it takes the more responsibility of 'release with very very liitle bugs' increases, or else its just a wait for nothing if eventually we've to wait another couple of days for followup sub-releases! That said im not against the important and big updates im just saying there are micro things, things which are still an immediate need like, DNS improvements (TTL, two-way cloudflare sync, etc.), backup improvements, UI/UX improvements at user side and so many are pending which are important to day to day operations.

If you invest tremendous amount of time and effort on things which are not needed or can wait you not only dissapoint users but you also increases pressure to deliver in time on yourself which is not okay either, as i said earlier scaling shouldn't be done unless ground level things are sorted.

Zoinkies I think its also because they add (and dont finish) features they want instead of listening to customers. For example they wouldn't allow editing invoices despite many complaints and requests.

But its not unheard of that startups with initial success run into problems with sudden growth. Newly hired developers slow down development for quite a while before they are an asset.

JohnB they added the retentions shit the other month, that’s really not of any use yet, when I’m still waiting for them to add the option to provision a app for Enhance after account provision. Not difficult stuff to add in WHMCS but Upmind it has to take years.

Imagine if Upmind goes down. Big companies like Stablepoint and Verpex use it, it would be a disaster.

I still haven't decided to a better alternative, but it seems that WHMCS is the only option.

wav3front both of those are owned by the same people who own Upmind. I imagine as they used WHMCS before they’d use it again.

I have a feeling that it will be difficult to release version 12.0.0 this month. There are no concrete updates from the Enhance team on the forum at the moment.

I feel that in the next two months. Also, it now feels like Enhance is not at mass production level yet, lot's of limitation.
