Beginner question moving to Enhance

Hi,

I'm a website developer with experience in RunCloud and cPanel. I'm considering switching to Enhance to manage and maintain my clients' websites and hosting.

I'm new to Enhance, so I'd appreciate any guidance I can get.

I have three VPS servers:

Server A (EU): 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, Europe data center
Server B (SGP): 3 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, Singapore data center
Server C (USA): 3 vCPU, 3 GB RAM, USA data center

I'm planning to:

Set up Enhance control panel, Application Server, and Database Server on Server A for EU clients
Install Application Server and Database Server on Server B for Southeast Asia clients
Install Application Server and Database Server on Server C for USA clients

Can you review my setup and let me know if it looks good? Any help would be super appreciated!

Your plan looks good. Just make sure to add a cheap storage VPS for the backup role (Check out AlphaVps), and you are good to go. Also, don't forget to add the DNS role to all 3 servers if needed. Good luck!

cPFence Do I need to install the Application Server and Database Server roles on each VPS (Server B and Server C) before installing a website, or can I just install the necessary roles on Server A and have it handle websites from other regions?

You can do both. To minimize latency, I recommend opting for the single server setup for database and application roles.

I agree on APP/DB roles being on the same server for all general purpose hosting. We keep all other services (including SMTP since we require smtp auth for customer web-forms) off our web servers. Your setup is good out of box, and you can always tweak it later.

I agree with @twest - get an inexpensive VM and make it a dedicated backup server, just be sure to read the docs about BTFS setup.

If you have more detailed needs such as load balancing via Cloudflare, you can setup a separate mysql server on the back-end with very low latency links to 2 Enhance servers. There will be a slight overhead, but critical sites could benefit.
