It’s getting harder to ignore the feud between Matt Mullenweg and WP Engine. What started as a business dispute has now turned into something nastier, more toxic, and frankly, pettier.
As someone who’s been around the block a few times, and am closely watching how this impacts the WordPress ecosystem, I’m genuinely worried about what this could mean for the future of Enhance.com, especially given how tied it is to WordPress as a product.
We’ve already had clients reaching out, worried about how this could impact their websites. And honestly, I get it. When the people at the top are caught up in a war, it’s the rest of us who feel the fallout. Will this infighting affect future development? Could partnerships like Enhance.com end up suffering because of personal vendettas? It’s unsettling, to say the least.
WordPress has become a cornerstone for so many businesses, and this whole situation feels like a ticking time bomb to me.
@Adam While I don't think the WP as we know it is at risk of imminent implosion, I do wonder what, if any, contingencies you have planned in the event that the ecosystem deteriorates.
