webpsite empty after moving from server to another

Hi,

while waiting for support (2+hours, probably out of support hours already).

we moved few accounts from one server to another
on the new server, the website are giving 404 error, since their /public_html are empty. like if the content was not moved.
using the backup restore doesn't make anything either.

anyone has experienced this?

Run this command on your backup server:

btrfs subvolume list /backups/ | grep 'website_id_here'

Do all your backup snapshots appear in the results?

The backups have space used, but i can't find a way to see/navigate the backup, or download them, to even try a manual restore/upload of them.

also restoring them does nothing for a while, says succeded, but nothing appears on the /public_html.

josedieguez have you viewed the new server home directory to view the public-html folder via FTP yet? Maybe a permissions problem on the folders there, best to check that before moving on to more drastic measures.

Was the new server already running with websites on it before you transferred, or was it a brand new server? Just wondering if it's a problem with the new server build maybe.

Do you have other external backups of the sites? I would plan to start getting those setup as that will likely be the quickest route to recovery for now.

josedieguez make sure port 22 is the ssh port .
If that doesn't fix the error wait for support I had this issue multiple times, had to contact them.

josedieguez you can fetch the backups manually off your backup server, just login via FTP and go to the folder at /backups/. From there you can find the folder for your websites, click through to the folders like backup-subvolume and all your files and database backup will be in there, you can use those to manually restore sites.

yep, trough FTP or SSH, i can see the folder is empty.

not 100% empty, there is a few files-folders, but pretty much empty, same as whats visible trough file manager inside Enhance GUI

josedieguez the backup server has no backups saved either? Did the backups log show failed backups?

on the log all of the backups (every 12hrs) seems to have succeded.

and the backups of this website says 4.7GB space on files, so there must be a backup somewhere lol

Update.

the website was using cloudflare, and the client had the same domain in more than one of our services, so he wasn't even using the Enhance service for that specific domain.. so he didn't have to change the domain IP, and that's what caused the 404 error.

Every backup of that domain was almost empty, because that's exactly what he has on that plan, nothing, since wasn't being used. So every backup was correctly succeded.

The 4.7GB of data of backup is from it seems a subdomain he has there.

At the end, the move website between servers worked correctly, the backups were working correctly too on Enhance side.
