I solved the issue, but did not figure out what had happened.
I did a reset of the password for the db user from enhance, and changed it in WP config file, but still could not connect to the database.
I ended up creating a new db user, and changed the WP config file to this new user, and it worked.
For some reason the old db user was not working anymore.
