Trying to install on a VM (not CT) in Proxmox all day and it keeps ending up like this, twice I've waited over 60 minutes. I don't know why the installation gets stuck here.

I started with 4GB RAM, increased to 8 GB and also always here where it jams it gets the RAM consumption to 90%+

This step can take over an hour on a low-end VPS (weak connection, slow disk, etc.), and increasing the RAM won’t help. However, on a decent VPS, even with low RAM, it’s usually 10–15 minutes max. I’d recommend opening a ticket with the Enhance team, and don’t forget to update the thread with the outcome.

The server isn't quite so weak that it can't handle it. When I installed the panel on CT, ignorant of what Enhance doesn't support, i.e. paravirtualization, the installation went smoothly. I guess the problem is how the harddisk is created on the VM template.

Thanks for the information, I'll try something else before I contact support, I'll share the information about the possible solution.

cPFence So it looks like installation problems when the Proxmox VM has two network cards, one with a public IP and one with a private IP. Thus for a smooth installation to have them one mesh. This isn't quite certain information yet, but it might be useful to potential Proxmox + Enhance operators

I don't know why, but when I tried installing on Ubuntu 24 server minimal instead of cloud-init, the installation went through, maybe I missed something on the cloud-init template. I don't know what though, so I won't give a solution as to what it was.

Have you checked that ipv6 is correctly configured, and that it resolves?

Here's the details of a VM I have running as a backup server node. Been running smoothly for over a year.

Try not using EFI and setting your machine to q35? Maybe it will help you.

Thanks for the advice but the current installation attempt ends with this again. The only successful one was when I installed the VM with Ubuntu from the ISO and not via Cloud-init
