You either have the skills and do it yourself, or pay good $ to hire someone to do it for you. Whatever you expect is irrelevant, because other businesses are making it work very well without the things that you call essential.

The islands here are full of broke dudes calling themselves CEO of a concept without proper funding, where everything that gets done is actually an Upwork kiddo slaving away.

Keep climbing your mountain.....

If there were ever a control panel that could 100% replace server admins, many of us would be out of business. Thank God that's not possible. That said, you don’t necessarily have to be a skilled admin to run a hosting business. I’ve seen it happen time and again, folks with little understanding of basic Linux manage to acquire 1,000 clients in no time, while talented admins struggle to get 100. It’s unfortunate, but it happens. Success in hosting often depends on much more than technical skills, it requires a mix of luck, business sense, and choosing the right market or region where demand is high and competition is manageable.

I do it myself and I got the skills, ain’t got the time, as I said these days everything is zero touch. And I expect that from modern hosting platform. For most I’ve been asking enhance is to make it easier to manage. Without the need to get into terminal, or without the need for 3rd party software like monitoring…
You got to understand that enhance is actually the most expensive platform, talking when u got 10 servers and 8k customers we be paying 8k+ a month.
I really expect for that price I not to be paying sysadmins 8k a month as well…

cPFence one thing is to get clients, and completely different to manage to keep that clients year after year…

I was customer on few hosting providers in the past and none of them could keep me more than a year… big hosting providers…

Right so I run on server:
    apt install nodejs npm

And in website terminal I run:
    npm install clean-css uglify-js

    npm install —save-dev webpack

Don’t understand anything but website loading times gets deff improved…

Kosta The performance on pagespeed insights gets from 58 to 67 !

Question now to enhance team - can this be made automatically when we install enhance on server , why I need to do this like sysadmin?

        Kosta 67... ouch

JohnB Could you please recommend a course or platform where I can learn everything to become an experienced sysadmin? I’ve started a successful business for Arabic people, where I currently have 50 clients as a hosting provider. Fortunately, I’ve never had any security issues, but I feel that my knowledge of hosting is only around 30%. So, I want to learn everything correctly, such as Linux, Ubuntu, SSH, etc., and how to troubleshoot problems on my own or intervene if there’s a hack.

I would really appreciate your help with this!

@cPFence If you also have any tips or courses to suggest, I would be very grateful.

          Thanks in advance!

Here are two courses from my bookmarks that might help you get started. I tried recommending them to my 21-year-old son, but he’s not into Linux! They should give you a solid foundation:

            1. Linux Essentials
            2. Bash Mastery

[deleted] ouch it’s a 9 points by simply running 2 command lines ouch…

HostieR If you want to become an experienced sysadmin, start by learning Linux cause it’s the foundation of almost everything. Getting certifications like Linux Essentials and LPIC-1 is a great way to build your skills. Then, start self-hosting projects. Set up web servers like Apache or Nginx, manage databases like MySQL or MariaDB, and use Docker to simplify deployments.

Learn how networking works, understand things like TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP, and use tools like Wireshark or tcpdump to analyze traffic. Spend time learning Linux security, set up firewalls, SSH hardening, kernel hardening, malware detection, auditing and monitoring, and much more. Figure out how to optimize server‘s performance as well.

Dive into hosting, optimizing, and securing WordPress sites. Learn about common issues like slow page loads, plugin conflicts, and database errors, and practice fixing them.

A home lab is super helpful for practice. Break things, fix them, and document what you learn. Dive into automation tools like Ansible, explore cloud platforms, and join online communities to connect with others.

Take it step by step, and over time, you’ll naturally grow into a solid sysadmin.

Kosta Do you know how much trouble minifying CSS, HTML, and JavaScript could cause for some websites? It doesn’t work seamlessly for every site. Can you imagine how many support tickets the Enhance team would receive if they implemented such a feature? It’s not just a simple toggle switch.

ivansalloum it should be simple and I believe in enhance team will sort this even if takes another 5 years…
Currently I am worried about how many support tickets I will get as hosting provider!

1+ all my customers to have toggle switch to minify css, html, JavaScript with one click!!!!

Instead my customers to keep asking me how to do this and I too keep replying to them “learn basic Linux commands” lol

For 99% of websites, running those commands is going to help in absolutely no way.

You can't install some npm packages on your Wordpress website and expect it to be any faster...

Dan I can’t agree as I just run the commands this morning to one Joomla based website and one whmcs based website. Both of them significantly improved their loading speed- noticed from first click then double checked with PageSpeed insights bum 58 to 67 on the joomla and 85 to 87 on the whmcs website improvement.
I will test with Wordpress as well to see.

On top of this I can notice reduced server load!

                        Now I know you're joking.

Kosta I’ve never seen a hosting company optimize clients’ site performance. It‘s not your job! Your focus should be on the hosting infrastructure and its performance, not on things like minifying CSS, HTML, or JavaScript. Even if you want to offer those services, you can’t expect Enhance to include them since it’s a hosting control panel, not a page optimization tool.

ivansalloum oh I do expect to be included in modern hosting panel!
