Hello.

Can I run this command to in the terminal ? To minify scripts? Just checking as this is node.js I think…

npm install clean-css uglify-js

Its javascript not java. Enhance doesnt install or use NodeJS.

If you installed npm on the server, it will be availble for users also, then they can use NPM.

Enhance doesn't replace basic sysadmin skills and never will. I'd strongly suggest learning these basics first.

JohnB well from modern hosting panel I expect all roles to be configured and optimised such as web server, dns, database… so when I press shared environment on the server role to be optimised for shared environment not to keep digging where missing something or needs to be adjusted to be able to do that role!

Kosta No, you can’t expect that from a modern control panel. Experienced sysadmins prefer to configure everything manually, without predefined tweaks. Each user has different goals and requirements, so pre-tweaking the configuration and assuming it will work universally is unrealistic. Additionally, you can’t effectively provide hosting services if you’re not familiar with the underlying stack and components. It’s up to you to adjust the configuration to suit your needs, don’t expect the control panel to handle that for you.

I cannot agree with that,
If they can implement php ini directives into the panel they can do the same to DAtabase server and so on so to be managed all within the panel…

Kosta Every single high quality hosting provider regardless of what panel they use, have skilled sysadmin(s) that know how to configure the server without a magic button. A nice restaurant doesn't hire a cook who avoids cooking from scratch but made Ramen once.

This cannot be overstated: If you or full time employee are not comfortable in a sysadmin role, your hosting will never be good, regardless of the panel. Many MANY people have failed because eventually a failure or problem comes up that requires sysadmin skills to address.

You shouldn't sell hosting if you can't setup whatever stack you're using (LAMP for example), back it up, restore backup to another server completely on your own without following a guide.

Btw Enhance will support NodeJS in the future but it currently doesn't. You can install NodeJS yourself though.

I am the director, I don’t need to be sysadmin, btw I ve been good sysadmin when I was kid 20y ago but i didn’t do this for 20y so now I don’t remember how to put the ssh key even. However I learned from internet before and now is even easier but. I can’t be bothered as I got full time job, if all goes well I will get back to sysadmin when I leave my current workplace etc. for now I expect all to be managed from within the panel!
I mean it ain’t difficult for enhance team to make something like settings to database and just to choose what settings then apply button and that’s it. Instead to keep digging and testing what settings are best for server with 100acc or 1000acc we just need configured presents…

You either have the skills and do it yourself, or pay good $ to hire someone to do it for you. Whatever you expect is irrelevant, because other businesses are making it work very well without the things that you call essential.

The islands here are full of broke dudes calling themselves CEO of a concept without proper funding, where everything that gets done is actually an Upwork kiddo slaving away.

If there were ever a control panel that could 100% replace server admins, many of us would be out of business. Thank God that's not possible. That said, you don’t necessarily have to be a skilled admin to run a hosting business. I’ve seen it happen time and again, folks with little understanding of basic Linux manage to acquire 1,000 clients in no time, while talented admins struggle to get 100. It’s unfortunate, but it happens. Success in hosting often depends on much more than technical skills, it requires a mix of luck, business sense, and choosing the right market or region where demand is high and competition is manageable.

I was customer on few hosting providers in the past and none of them could keep me more than a year… big hosting providers…

I do it myself and I got the skills, ain’t got the time, as I said these days everything is zero touch. And I expect that from modern hosting platform. For most I’ve been asking enhance is to make it easier to manage. Without the need to get into terminal, or without the need for 3rd party software like monitoring…
You got to understand that enhance is actually the most expensive platform, talking when u got 10 servers and 8k customers we be paying 8k+ a month.
I really expect for that price I not to be paying sysadmins 8k a month as well…

Right so I run on server:
apt install nodejs npm

And in website terminal I run:
npm install clean-css uglify-js

npm install —save-dev webpack

Don’t understand anything but website loading times gets deff improved…

Kosta The performance on pagespeed insights gets from 58 to 67 !

Question now to enhance team - can this be made automatically when we install enhance on server , why I need to do this like sysadmin?
