How to change the version of PHP CLI?

Changing php for a user also changes the cli version. Unless you are talking about running php as root… which is a bad idea.

Change php from dashboard

You can do this by changing the symlink of /usr/bin/php but you should never run website scripts as root. It is dangerous but it will also cause permission issues within the website since any files will be written as root.

xyzulu Still my problem is not resolved yet i want to change the root cli version to deal with Phalcon Framework which required 8.2 or above to enable some dependancy. As you know the Phalcon is deliver as c extension.
And if you know Laravel Queue worker which required a Custom Service, And the Service is always run on root....
I am not much so active in Forum otherwise i will replay....

In all honesty, if you run web script as root, I will personally fly halfway across the world just to slap you. Never Go Full Retard

If your commands on a essentially shared environment require sudo or root privileges, they are wrong or a larger issue exists which you are ignoring. It is a quick way to break everything on the server at best and get the server obliterated at worst.
