In the latest planned release it says:

Will these be incremental backups or essentially a tar.gz of the whole site like the S3 backup functions?

They're still incremental, using hard links rather than relying on the underlying file system for de-duplication.

Adam any plans to make s3 external incremental also anytime soon ? IF not i will release a free word press plugin for Enhance users, but if its something you will implement soon there is no point

adil Yes this is why i thought i should ask, in any case if that means that it will take some time i will proceed with the plugin 🙂

On our system, at around 300000 snapshots (5400rpm drive) I started to see issues with btrfs cleaning and snapshotting. I am currently testing a SSD drive instead (thanks for the help with that @Adam ), but this change to other file systems will probably lead to better use of our backup servers.

While I had 300k snapshots, that was only around 1Tb of total data. Actually uncompressed "latest" snapshots were still a lot less than 1Tb ( a bit less than 300Gb).
