Anyone using Enhance with Hostbill?

If anyone is interested about this issue, it appears I have found the cause.

In Hostbill, a service that is connected to an Enhance app needs an Account id in order to display the SSO login button in the client area. Initially, I thought that this Account id is the id of the user who is the owner of the organisation in Enhance. It actually is the Enhance organisation id.

Although the import from WHMCS creates the enhOrgId field that stores the Enhance organisation id, it appears that Hostbill needs that id at the Service level, not at the Client level. That is stupid, but apparently that's how the Hostibll Enhance module works.

In WHMCS, the organisation ID is at the client account level, and the Service (Plan/Package) only has a subscription ID, which I think is the correct way to do it.

I had similar issues, but I’m wrapping them up with support from HB and Enhance. I’ll let you know once everything is sorted out.
Apart from the “invalid domain name” issue, the rest sounds like a configuration problem with your panels.

OK, have you solved any of the listed issues? What exactly are you stuck on right now? The most important thing is whether the accounts in the admin panel are being created automatically and whether there’s nothing in the error log.

I have solved this by adding the organization ID in the Account ID field on the service page. Now the button to login to the panel appears.

In regards of the creation of a new organization, I have mapped the client ID with the Enhance account ID in the hb_enhance database table for the Demo Account and it worked, placing a new order will not create a new organization, it will just create a new Package under that organization.

The problem was that the WHMCS import didn't populate the hb_enhance database table with the client id and Enhance orgid, so Hostbill doesn't know that account X in Hostbill is account X from Enhance. That's why it creates a new organization in Enhance. So I had to map it manually in that db table.

We’re about to start testing migration from WHMCS to HB ourselves shortly.

Some experience feedback regard HB would be nice.

Just a sidenote.. I have worked with WHMCS twice (in my lifetime) and both times it made my life miserable. What a hot mess that system is.

Currently I am provisioning clients manually, and partially through Upmind. I like Upmind but there are a few things I definitely do not like. I want to check other options as manually provisioning clients is not sustainable.

ronald I wanted to like Upmind, especially the UI, but it just feels clunky and not intuitive. Just setting up domain provisioning felt like lots of unnecessary clicks. It's like they're making it especially generic so it can be used with non-hosting businesses.

Hostbill has some nice things.

I like the separation of client accounts between private individuals and companies. I also like that I can set custom fields to appear only for private individuals, other fields only for companies, and other fields only for companies in our country, and not for customers from abroad. This fine-tuning is quite lovely.

There are more fine-tuning settings that WHMCS doesn't have.

What I don't like is the design (UX/UI). To be fair, it's not just Hostbill, also WHMCS, Clientexec and Blesta are bad at this. I cannot believe that in 2025, with so many UI kits available for free, people who make these dashboards are incapable of building something nice-looking and usable. At least with WHMCS, you can get Lagom for the frontend, and the backend is decent. Hostbill has the worst backend, tiny font sizes, bad design choices, etc.

For many people, this seems insignificant, but we spend almost all day inside this dashboard, and if it's not a pleasant experience, it contributes to fatigue.

HB Admin area is ugly, but works
HB Client area, is probably the worst among all

HB integration to Enhance is not good, sadly we saw issues we were not able to fix, and abandoned it (the integration)

josedieguez I can't complain about their support. The Hostbill team provided a patched version of the Enhance module after explaining all the issues (which I also explained here).
