I have a theory about the kinds of customers Enhance is attracting

It’s just a theory.. if true, it will be wasting a lot of support time for Enhance.. among other things.

I wonder how many people try to save money by using addon domains and not hosting their websites separately? These users are paying Enhance $5 a month and potentially filling a few servers with addon domains under a few separate accounts. It may also explain some of the things people bring to these forums and how little skills (even to use google to teach themselves) they appear to have regarding server admin.

Prove me wrong please..

As a user, when I came to enhance, I was expecting and was excited to use different website container for each domain, this would solve a lot of issues like different php versions , backups etc .

Unfortunately, enhance doesn't limit resources on package, so I can't offer a package with multiple websites it has to be one package per website, which creates issues .

Another issue is migrating sites from cpanel with big number domains, I would love if the migrator could separate them but I don't think that's easy to do .

If that was a feasible solution I would gladly pay more, than less .

Now there are other things that contribute also to complains .
I started hosting 14 years ago, starting with cpanel and shortly after moving to DA, DA with CL, did spoiled me, since everything worked and no issues ever arised.
Now I decided to try enhance, enhance comes on a different time in my career, hosting is not my Hobie but my primary incom, so now I have a business plan, and a vision, which as result makes me stress enhance to its limits as a product, this together with the teams failing to deliver on their deadlines by far, made bitter and probably rude on this forum.

Now I breath in that enhance will take longer, and I changed my approach, so I complain less, but I still hope they will make multiple websites make more sense and will be able to force them to my clients , this way they will also get higher income from me, but the peace of mind that comes with multiple website containers and the ability to migrate them fast it's priceless .

Checking on the current roadmap, I fill that they are moving towards the right direction , but they are not my vessel yet

I want to also add :
I see enhance as a tool to save admin time, as long as they do that I am glad to pay, but if the product is result of higher admin time, then financially it might not make sense .

And also they have to make sure there are no bugs on the UI, because the UI is the face of my business , so it's hurting .. though I solved that by using the api

I believe some of these are from "how to make money easy online" type videos where they say just sell hosting. They say just install a panel (like CyberPanel) and setup a few things and watch the money roll in. They google a little bit for a panel and land on Enhance because it looks pretty and isn't scary ugly and old like cpanel.

To someone lacking skills, flashy looking software is way more comfortable to use.

Also there are many website developers who host their client websites because its "easy money" and they think they will make more than just being a reseller. Thats great but you have to learn sysadmin and different troubleshooting skills which MANY (perhaps most) web developers do not have.

I don't get the point here - I host customers under a separate account each, and they get add-on domains according to the package. Some a few, some more. I do that because it is easy for the customer to manage everything, not to save money.
What is wrong with that?

pulse IMO addon domains are a holdover from cPanel days. We provision hosting for new members without any addon domains, but we do migrate cPanel with addon domains.

Personally I prefer the containerization, clustering and security (especially with cPFence) of Enhance. I'd rather avoid addon domains completely for new members even with the extra cost (which is minimal compared to cPanel.) I think addon domains are simply for cPanel (maybe Plesk and others) specifically for migration.

Me and my friend more came to it because it was just better with openlitespeed then directadmin not sure whats going on with them but if a website load 25 sec and tried 3 different server setups and enhance it goes to 3 sec or faster and all websites are 40% faster same server specs its time to move on that became enhance.

I expect much more to come over its not just the cost. Its a bonus for me that I can turn on a extra server and a back-up server for the license costs that I am saving but its not my main goal. Its working better for my use cases.

I can't imagine very many people are using addon domains to save 15 cents. It's much more likely that people are using addon domains because 99% of control panels out there use addon domains, so someone migrating to enhance with an existing customer base is pretty much required to use addon domains.

For the small number of people that actually do use addon domains specifically to save $, they were doing the same thing on the panel they migrated from - cpanel/da/whatever, so it's not like this is some new phenomena unique to enhance, those people and other abusive customers will always be present, it's part of doing business.

Ultimately if support is getting overrun then it's not any of the users fault, it's the fault of the owner of enhance. It's up to the owner to manage the business, assess needs, change prices to cover expenses, hire talent, etc etc etc. If support is out of control, then maybe it's time to hire a new support person and not just Adam doing everything. If the business doesn't generate enough $ to hire a dedicated support person, then maybe time to increase prices.
