Permission denied error backup task

Hello, I am currently in the process of configuring backups on our server cluster. However, I am encountering the following error message during the backup process:

Permission denied (publickey,password) rsync

Seems like that it happens because we have an NFS share mounted to the backups folder? How can we fix this?

Could you please advise on how we might resolve this issue?

How are the users/groups on the NFS server compared to the Backup server? And how is the NFS share mounted?

It needs to behave like a normal Linux filesystem mount, or else you get permission errors

Yes it is a normal Linux filesystem mount. I noticed this;

It works only for new sites added to some of our servers, not for websites that have already been added before the backup role was active. Is there a way to fix this?

What's the difference between the user:group and permissions on the backup server of the working new websites compared to the old ones not working?

I don't think NFS will work as a backup target because you won't be able to create hard links.

However the permission denied issue suggests either that public key authentication is disabled in sshd_config or that the home dirs for the backup users are missing - maybe you mounted the new storage over top of the existing directories.

Edit: Maybe a tip for the future to do a 'resync' option for filepermissions on the backup folder?

pos-sudo did you end up using NFS ok for your backups? Any tips.. we are giving this some thought ourselves now but based on what we have found so far, hard links will be actual files on a NFS share.. but.. we haven't done live testing with Enhance yet.

Edit: if using proxmox you could use nfs as storage (disk image formatted to ext4 even)
