PHP and wp_config

Newbie here, dipping my toes...

I have installed my first app and checked its system info: the WordPress memory is 40 and the cURL Timeout is 60.

I don't seem to have access to the wp_config file as permission is set to 600 to define the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT... what's the trick here?
Also I tried to add curl.timeout = 300 to the php.ini editor and this config does not seem to take effect even after restarting the PHP container and the whole server.

My server is running OLS, what are you recommended configurations for simple mid-low traffic websites?

Set permissions to 644, edit file and then switch back. 600 is a good chmod for config files.

Howdy, here is what I use for my WordPress clientbase
memory_limit- 512M (could be 256M)
post_max_size- 1000M
max_input_time- 3000
max_input_vars -5000
max_execution_time - 3000
upload_max_filesize - 1000M

In regards to the permission issue.. is it a new wordpress install? I never have permission issues when installing or using WordPress websites. I would recommend trying a blank install to start with. Or check what the permissions should be here (Which says 'wp-config.php: 640')
