email server and PTR record

im looking for a little bit of help setting up an email role on enhance and the PTR record and HELO name*
My domain is running through Cloudflare, and for this example, I will be using mydomian.com

So when I go to install the email role on a server, it asks me for a HELO name, so I will be using
smtp-1-uk1.mydomian.com

I have the A record set to
smtp-1-uk1 to 169.254.1.1

The part im not getting too well is the PTR record Cloudflare has a DNS setting for PTR
So, what information do I need to enter
1.1.254.169.in-addr.arpa going to smtp-1-uk1.mydomian.com

Any help is much appreciated

You need to do that also from the server provider panel, for example, herzner :
https://docs.hetzner.com/cloud/servers/cloud-server-rdns/

This is just example, IDK the provider you are using.

ok, so I have found the section within my hosting for the Reverse DNS Management and I now have it setup where the IP will point to the domain I also have the A recorded setup for domain to IP

No. But do a remote PTR lookup yourself to be sure. For example: dig -x 1.2.3.4 @1.1.1.1

No, you typically don't need to set up a PTR record in Cloudflare's DNS settings. PTR records are managed by the provider of the IP address, not by the DNS service provider.

That from my experience how I have done it. If you did it from your provider side, just wait few hours and it will start pointing to your domain.

Just did the dig test, and it looks to be pointing to the correct domain
And I assume that the hello name for the email role will be my smtp-1-uk1.mydomian.com

nqnoc That is just an online tool for doing a dig. It's easy to do it yourself and even choose the server you want to check.. ie 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 or your own ISP server.

so I can send an email to a Gmail account, but the same Gmail account can not send to the enhanced email

Your message wasn't delivered to ****** because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail.
The response from the remote server was:
550 5.0.1 Recipient rejected

Yes, I think I know what the problem is. I think it is my Mailgun setup, just tested it with an iCloud email, and the header info is showing my Mailgun info

so I think I need to figure out how to have both them setup on my domian

I'm guessing that is the outgoing email SMTP (from Enhance) headers though.. the issue with receiving mail should not involve Mailgun at all.

ok, so think im all sorted now, it looks like I can send and receive from a Gmail and iCloud email
I forgot about my IPv6 PTR and AAAA Record

I also changed the MX priority
