Hello Enhancers,

Today I have a website which has gone beyond its bandwidth package allowance in the night.

Question: What to do when a client reaches his bandwidth limit but does not want to upgrade his plan?

(Enhance defines: Bandwidth allowance as "The total monthly data transfer across all websites. Email traffic is excluded.")

In Enhance, when the bandwidth limit is reached, nothing happens and the website continues to run (which is good).

Now what to do if your client does not want to upgrade package but simply buy more Bandwidth?

I can't find a way right now to override a particular client's package in order to increase his monthly Bandwidth allowance.

Maybe you guys have a better way to handle this case. Thanks for your insights.

Adrien It depends on the billing system. If you are using upmind this option is not available yet. You can just set charges for extra usage beyond the limit.

Adrien we don't have Bandwith limits only disk space limits. We advertise it as fair use and monitor sites offcourse. When a cliënt is using significant more Bandwith we gonna look for the reason and act according the terms and conditions in 15 years it happend twice or so.

How do I handle this side purchase inside Enhance. I would like the client's bandwidth purchase to reflect in his enhance package. I don't mind doing this manually for the time being but it seems there's no way inside Enhance to deal with the scenario of adding bandwidth to a particular package.
So the client will keep seeing the bandwidth showing in red beyond the limit even though he bought credit.

@mike Thanks Mike. So you don't offer something like Kinsta does, where clients can also buy/pay for overage bandwidth usage. The only way you do this is through a plan upgrade, right?

@Adrien over the night 😮 . did the bandwidth double in one night ? if that's the case either the calculation is wrong or some weird (fishy) thing is happening to the website.

We monitor the website if the client constantly reaches his bandwidth limit we force him to upgrade. no other choice if he wants to stay with us.

Adrien No its not the only way. We charge some clients overage when they reach their package limit. generally speaking they do not and when they do constantly its either the package is not suitable or there is something wrong. Its up to you to investigate & decide.

I think your flexibility offering overage to your clients depends on the billing and cp you are using.

Have you noticed the Enhance analytics show up for one month max? How can we handle this? We tell the client to check the past data on his own Google Analytics. Or are you guys using a specific tool?
