Migration to a new server, surprise.

Hi, I moved all the sites along with the panel to a new server. Fresh installation, files transferred using full site backups… everything 1:1. But on the new server it’s 70.63 GB, and on the old one it was 140 GB. How is that possible?

I had the old panel since version v11, then updated it to v12 and removed everything that was recommended, but something was still taking up almost twice as much space compared to the new installation.

Most likely it’s old Docker leftovers.

At the installation of the OS you have an option to select if to use "one big disk" or small partitions for different uses, you probably chosed something else? (considering it's half of 140GB sounds like it)

I recommend to use "ncdu" to analyze which folders takes the bigger space.
sudo apt install ncdu
sudo ncdu /
