markus We wanted to test both products and requested free trials. We had trouble receiving the cpfence trial key, but in the meantime we received and tested CPGuard. We were happy with it, and at that point we preferred not to invest any more time testing other products, so we installed cpguard on the entire cluster. It's very lightweight, significantly reduced the load, and actually does its job.
That said, I haven't tested cpfence just for this trivial reason, but I'm sure the product is absolutely fine and they're very active in the community, so I think you'll be happy with both. Cpfence is probably cheaper and "tailored for enhance," so it definitely has more features. Cpguard, while longer-lasting and more robust, has the downside of being designed for multiple panels, so it certainly has fewer features for enhance. But if you, like us, were primarily looking for protection, it's also more than adequate. For now we are satisfied with cpguard, perhaps, if we have time, we could consider testing cpfence with the renewal of the annual subscription.
