OLS vs Enterprise Litespeed?

Aside from the htaccess compatibility is there an actual performance difference for a singular website? I can't seem to find any definitive data on this, mostly because comments always devolve into something along the lines of "litespeed lies about speed nginx can be made faster"

All the official documentation (https://www.litespeedtech.com/products/litespeed-web-server/editions) says is "More powerful cache engine" and some modsecurity features. Does anyone have experience in this or know what "More powerful cache engine" really means for wordpress?

The unlimited workers for OLS would be better for uncached performance right?

JohnB I don't think there has been any test made publicly available. I would be curious to know the answer too.

JohnB OLS It has a limit of 16 workers.
I've done various benchmarks and OLS can handle 1 million requests per minute for a simple hello world php file. As long as you have enough cpu.
Of course, with the cache turned on. Litespeed should be a little better at this.

AdamM Oh are you sure about the 16 workers' limit? I've never read this before.
This is definitely something that makes a difference.

Adrien Yes - in OLS config workers - "Syntax: Integer value between 1 and 16"
But it is still a large number and a lot of capacity.
In LiteSpeed max is 64 workers.

Up to 16 PHP workers on OLS and 128 on LSWS.
With LSWS this number can also be pre-set depending on the license type (more info here: https://docs.litespeedtech.com/licenses/products/lsws/ )
And yeah, you're right 16 workers on OLS is a lot.

I feel like a singular website realistically would never exceed 16 workers. If its that busy, it should be behind a CDN anyway. But if you were running multiple sites on a large server it would definitely be important.
