External Hetzner DNS api support [LOGGED]

We use Hetzner DNS servers and would be awesome if there comes an integration like the Cloudflare DNS for hetzner DNS.

I will log this as a feature request. It's quite a niche integration so it might be a little while - if you wanted to write your own middleware it could be achieved right now using the createDnsThirdPartyProvider API endpoint in Enhance. A URL set here will receive an HTTPS PUT request with the entire zone contents every time a customer updates a zone on your cluster. This is independent of the DNS role on Enhance and does not require you to install any DNS servers.

Implementation of this functionality will require some custom scripting. You would use the endpoint createDnsThirdPartyProvider to set an https URL. Enhance will then make a PUT request to this URL every time a customer's DNS zone is changed. It contains the entire content of the DNS zone in JSON format.

You would then need to write your own code to take that information and make the API requests to Hetzner or your chosen DNS provider.

Long term we can build integrations for Hetzner DNS if enough people want it. Route53 is another popular feature request.

From my perspective I would simply prefer to use cloudns.
I just think also that more people would like to use Cloudns than Hetzner despite the costs. This would be a good alternative to Cloudflare.

AdamM All good but you are misleading people by saying that ClouDNS is cheaper than Hetzner DNS and in reality this is not true. Might be better but it is not cheaper, it is more expensive than Hetzner DNS because hetzner is completely free of charge even if you don't own any VPS

Is Cloudns better than Cloudflare? Cloudflare can be used also as a DNS only, without any of their proxy services if someone should not like them...
Also it seems to be the fastest, and completely free for this kind of service, or am I missing something?

Bunny.net DNS service seems also quite nice, with a free tier up to 20M requests per month (and now it integrates with their new WP plugin with media offloading features)...
