Email only packages

I'd like to start selling email only packages. I'm currently reselling a third party solution but I'd like to start relying on my enhance infrastructure for that.

I created a package called "Starter Email" which consists in

1 mailbox with fixed 5Gb space.
0 websites.

I was wondering what to do if a client wants 2 mailboxes, since on the billing system I'd like to sell them 2 x Starter Email plans, but I don't konw hoy to manage it on the enhance side. Do I have to create a new package with 2 x 5Gb mailboxes? Or is there a way I'm not thinking about?

I don't think websites can have multiple packages, right?

Thinking about this (or overthinking it) I believe I need to create a few packages, for example:

Starter Email * 1 mailbox
Starter Email * 2 mailboxes
Starter Email * 3 mailboxes
Starter Email * 4 mailboxes

And upgrade clients when and if they need more mailboxes.

Question, more from an operations standpoint. Why even bother with email?

As a best practice, we avoid email like the plague and try to reinforce best practices. In this regard we refer clients to industry standards across 2 levels.

paid, gsuite, 1 account + 30 aliases @ $6
free, zoho, domain, +5 users @ $0

Just curious regarding effort, deliverability, and headaches offering email services.

digitalexpanse I have some clients who use other solutions like Google Workspace, Titan Mail and other 3rd party solutions, but there are some of them who are not willing to pay or don't have the knowledge to set it up.

Considering that my main business is agency/web development work (I don't offer hosting openly), I can still manage this way, it's more of a 1 to 1 relationship with clients.

But even if I refer them to workspace, zoho and others, they would still like to channel all payments and support through me, so it would be an automation nightmare as my current billing system doesn't integrate with these services and I would end up managing them manually. From this perspective, Enhance email offers me functionality and automation.

That's just my particular case, I think many companies here don't offer email at all (from what I can gather from the posts).

Pricing.

We all have different experiences, my own, with few thousands clients, most can't and won't pay extra for mail. $6 per month is a lot for many. specially when on your webhosting is included and "free".

The only real way you can control a service is if you mange it yourself.

We do this by creating a package with very small hosting space, no database, no applications, no ftp users, etc...and pre-set the email user # and space (since we utilize separate mail servers). This gives the user DNS and Email and in our case we do not care if they put up a 50K static html page.
