Enhancements in Backups

I am not sure if the following feature already exists. If so, I am not able to figure out how:

Downloading any selected backup. File / Folder selection should be allowed along with DB.
Selective folder restore.
Excluding files for backup based on website level. Like I dont want to backup *.log, *.sql, cache files, *.zip etc. for majority of my websites. However, I have some websites where a user uploads a zip file and it needs to be backed up.

Others, please let this list growing so that we can have a proper scope in place.

These are both coming soon, as well as selective file restore.

I can log this as a feature request. It feels risky to try to guess which files a website might rely on.

@PradeepC Adam Thats what I mean, if we have a configuration option to exclude specific extensions, it will do the trick. Like we have in jetbackup. Something like this https://docs.jetbackup.com/manual/whm/BackupJobs/excludeFiles.html

No , don't worry about it. It's already in cPanel from ages with no issues. In cPanel we can use
1- System-wide exclude - /etc/cpbackup-exclude.conf
2- Per-user exclude - /home/$user/cpbackup-exclude.conf

Enhance is way superior than cPanel and this feature will save us a ton on bkp servers costs. ( to exclude cache folders and / or zipped - tarred files ) Please consider it.

@badboybackagain The zip file backups might be risky, as some customers can keep large zip files and then the backup will take up a lot of space.

100% Agree, a lot of our customers have their own backup plugins which they refuse to not use, and it creates multiple zips which are being backed up. I’d love to be able to exclude extensions from backups.
