Let's Encrypt Max Request Failure

Is there a way to reset the Max Request Failure for Let's Encrypt? Is it a local restriction or one at Let's encrypt?
I have a staging site that I'm trying to issue a Let's encrypt certificate for.

I have left the site alone for days and when I come back and give it a try I still get the Max Request failure.

This limit comes from Let's Encrypt and it's possible you might hit that limit if you have a lot of staging/preview domains.

The workaround at the moment would be to obtain a wildcard SSL for the domain and to install that through the UI on your staging websites. In the future we will have a feature to automatically apply the wildcard certificate to any eligible domains instead of attempting an individual Let's Encrypt request.

A third option, if a lot of your staging websites belong to clients, is to configure the clients as resellers. They can then choose their own staging domain suffix which will come with its own Let's Encrypt rate limit.

Adam is there any timeline on the staging wildcard certificate? I just hit that limit after transferring just a few websites.

The feature request exists and it's coming but I can't give you an ETA. A workaround would be to manually acquire a wildcard for your staging domain (via Let's Encrypt, Zero SSL or your chosen SSL provider) and apply it manually to the staging websites.
