Hello Guys,

Sorry for the clickbait title 🙂

Well webpros (cpanel, Plesk, whmcs ...) decided that they cannot close their fiscal year without increasing their pricing again as they are going broke because one of their investors at Oakley decide to buy the new 300m yacht.

on the other hand we are small company with 6 employees. we raised our salaries and our expenses sky rocketed and we sucked up our overheads because our clients are already over their heads with prices going crazy. I believe they could have done the same easily.

It's not that we cannot pay its just that level of greed and milking every penny I cannot tolerate anymore.

I will start moving to enhance very soon. I believe with the nginx updates (modsecurity,vhost config) coming we will have a working web server to start with apart from LSE.

Do you share the same feelings or am I wrong ?

It's never welcomed but should always be expected. Have to look at these things as a reminder and opportunity to do things differently or better (our exposure is fortunately small using WHMCS but not cPanel, but it still bites).

necrom we used to have the lifetime license with WHMCS and they threw us all in the dumpster. why did u remind me 🫤

Well they have increased the price every year since the acquisition and it feels like a ritual now. I think they will soon lose their market share (in 3-4 years) to panels like Enhance and Webuzo but will be able to recoup the investment before that time.

Let's see what happens 🙂

All WebPros products are being hiked (WHMCS, Plesk and cPanel). They’ll keep doing it to raise their revenues for lost licenses until it’s no longer tenable.

Hopefully Enhance will solve cPanel migration problems so I can escape the final hike. Until then it’s time for me to dump WHMCS too.

MediaServe Which billing platform are you looking at? Is it FOSS Billing or Blesta?

dynamo Blesta or Upmind are two in the running. I’d prefer Upmind but what is the deal with product and domain images? Seems to be a lack of domain automation too. Plus if you migrate from WHMCS to Upmind everything kicks in with no trial period or resync.

MediaServe I would suggest testing Upmind very carefully. Like go through all the scenarios, changing subscriptions, addons, editing invoices (used to not be possible. Idk if that changed) etc. They are very rigid and support can be... opinionated from what I have seen others say here and brief testing I did.

MediaServe I don't like how Upmind functions in general. I am testing Blesta for a new project but the client area design really sucks. I cannot even find any decent theme online so maybe will have to get it built myself.

MediaServe ooh, the images are so awful.. would be good if you can just turn the images off (no use for webhosting)

Maybe I might create images per product but that is just time consuming..

Yes, web pros at it again.

We have WHMCS owned, which switched to monthly. I purchased a HostBill license in 21, but haven’t made the switch yet. I’ve been waiting to see what happens.

I got a useless WHMCS lifetime lic as well.
For my project using enhance, I am using clientexec. Matt and his team are awesome.
I like how you can live chat them in your clientexec backend if you need help.

Matt set me up with a custom plugin for enhance. I wanted to have CE create an account but not hosting account.
So users order and sign up and then they can add/remove hosting accounts anytime they want in the CP.

Andreas that seems a good idea, i will try to setup a CE tonight for enhance, hopefully it will work.

nanohits CE has its issues but it works well and gets the job done.

Never understand how did they end up owning both cPanel and Plesk without facing any monopoly lawsuits.

In the end we ended up switching to a local package, it certainly has some issues and lacks the integration with Enhance, but it has, one invoice per client per month, it has the registries we use and also can read our bankstatements when uploaded.

Together with @Vortex we'll work on a enhance integration.

We have a owned cPanel license, till about 2 years ago we used to pay 200$/year for access to updates.
Now for access to updates for 1year I got the price: $1,750 🙂
It will run without updates for now and at some point migrate the users out of that server.
