I agree. The 'enhance' panel should monitor and, if necessary, restart services if they become unresponsive.

All services managed by Enhance are restarted automatically if they stop, fail or exit.

Adam wow that's great! Is that running as some kind of agent or script or something? That's a really great core feature, definitely something to boast about on sales pages since self-healing is so important 🙂

twest Most of it will be down to the fact Enhance uses Docker which can restart containers if they are not running.

You can edit the systemd service override files if you want to restore that functionality. Just be cautious about creating a restart loop if the service keeps failing, make sure to set a reasonable restart delay to avoid issues.

MarkD I started using monit , it does restart the service and also sends emails.
You can easily add a script to monitor resource usage per website and receive alerts .
It solved most of my problems

I appreciate the input but I was trying to get clarification as to whether Enhance should be doing this. It used to under v11 so should it not still do it under v12?

I have no problem in setting up our own monitoring and restarting services accordingly but I kind of feel this should be part of the control panels remit shouldn't it? If not, then we should at least know it doesn't do that so we can take the appropriate measures.

In v11, this was handled by the built-in Docker container monitoring, which is why it’s no longer available in v12. Editing systemd services is what Adam suggested here:

And yes, I fully agree, it’s a much-needed feature. That’s exactly why we added it in cPFence, to provide full monitoring and management for all services on the server.

MarkD There should be a system in a place and no doubt eventually will be, but now they have more pressuring issues.

If i was in charge of a product like Enhance my first priority right now would be to create a framework for External Companies to integrate features (plugins etc), it could save them a ton of time and issues

Enhance is already starting to add systemd overrides to mimic the functionality we had from docker.

Now that I think about it, and all the other issues with updates lately, I really hope Enhance's override for litespeed doesn't conflict with my override and cause some terrible system crash... I'll have to test that :/

The update will prompt you whether you want to overwrite the override file or not.
