This is definitely possible and we do have a feature request logged for it.

Yes that should work. Obviously there is a risk that if your system is unable to resolve the CNAME then the record might not be correctly served.

What exactly do you mean? Can this be implemented in a safe way?
AdamM
It's no different to any other CNAME flattening system. Your system needs to read the remote CNAME, cache that data and serve the IP as an A record. If for any reason your system can't resolve the CNAME then it won't have the A record to serve. It's unusual but it's inherently more risky than a hard coded record as 2 DNS lookups are needed.
This would be a interesting feature to have. It will definitely help with client migration.
mendozal Yes, and a unique solution that one of the biggest in the industry, such as Plesk, does not have.
+1 for this feature
Are there plans to add this feature to the roadmap?
any plans to add this feature to roadmap?
It has been logged as a feature request and it will be built but no development time has been scheduled yet.
Adam Hi. Any updates with this feature?
AdamM Hi Adam, No development time has been assigned to this feature yet. When this changes, I will be sure to update the thread.
Is there any hope to add this feature to the new roadmap?
+1 🙂 Quic.cloud seems to be to best CDN from my experience. Not just with testing but more with the real world experience, it flys between pages, and free credits every month! Would be awesome to have CNAME flattening as apart of Enhance DNS.
