Yeah, the new monthly schedule is much better. I see a lot of changes are coming, and they are quite challenging.

It’s much easier to implement these features when starting from scratch, but implementing them on servers already running thousands of sites is a huge challenge. That’s why it’s taking time.

Unfortunately yes I saw it and I am frankly disappointed! I have been waiting for the Groupware functions for almost a year as well as node.js and python and it is still postponed!

I love Enhance and I love the support team but we are studying to start again on another solution. We can't wait months like this!

In addition I just saw that Plesk filled the gaps we needed like the smarthost, etc....

Yea just saw firewall manage went back another month, that’s over 5 months behind now. I’m starting to think to may move to Grid, or something else until Enhance is production ready.

SharedGrid If we wasn't already like 4-5-6 months behind on day-one features, I wouldn't usually be critical, but absolutely critical features are lagging from the begging of the year, to now, the end of the year.

Control panel replication may at least be here 1.5 years after it was first roadmapped (in Jan 2023) for October 2023, see: https://community.enhance.com/d/118-move-enhance-control-panel-to-another-server-roadmapped
This is the only positive thing I can say 😉

I get this is a huge release.. but I am baffled as to why the smaller bugs (UI issues etc) are just left for later or as all of these in 12.0.1 also planned for October?

xyzulu I wouldn't be so bothered if we actually had a schedule that was stuck to, I get development issues come up, but it's now at the cost of user base. I think we need more transparency with updates, and we need to be in the know as to why things are taking so long.

I'm not sure as to what the development issue is really, I threw £90k at a development company to create my K8 control panel for WordPress, and that took in its entirety less than 5 months to deploy, and already has all the same features as Enhance. Given K8 is a lot more in-depth and complicated, I can't image other than lack of developers, cost, financial difficulties updates aren't pushed out sooner.

The important things such as, ability to browse files in backup, in this way we can specifically choose to restore the only files that required and not whole site. Benefits are faster restoration and less debugging time.

@Adam there are important things that are immediate requirement, please consider base things to push earliest, top level improvements we can happily wait for!

At this point I just hope that all these delays will bring us a stable update without errors or a lot of downtime 🙏 especially with the panel transfer, because it will be the first operation I will have to do.

Roadmaps change.
Setbacks happen.

However in my 35+ years of hosting (OMG I'm old) I have not seen another company or team more responsive than Enhance.

The platform, even as it stands, is very capable and reliable.

So I will wait. Hell I lived the the early versions of Cobalt Networks software, so Enhance is friggin luxury!

jeff I get the "we are old" part, we came online with our hosting business on December 1, 1994. Glad there are some other "old-heads" still in the business.

I think seeing the timeline slip can cause some unnecessary emotional distress. Yes, we are all waiting for certain features, and some pet features. However, Enhance has been stable for us, mainly due to the phenomenal support by @Adam and the Enhance team. We have hit some weird bugs and snags, and some of them are "left-overs" from setup a year ago. BUT, in each case, they have found the issue and quickly corrected it.

I know it is hard in the hosting industry, but do your best to not tie yourself emotionally to product roadmaps. They are best-guesses, particularly when there is a transition as large as v 11.x to v 12. Make smart business decisions about Enhance - or any platform. If the Roadmap is missed, ask yourself, "does this make Enhance untenable as a hosting platform for my business" and then plan appropriately.

The annoying thing is having to deal with some customers.

There is a lot of work to accept the change from Cpanel to Enhance.

I'm hoping they'll launch the option to change the email password in RoundCube itself. This is urgent considering that large companies will not grant access to the panel to each employee.

I'm also looking forward to releasing the settings that maintain what was changed in OpenLiteSpeed.

Both are already in the itinerary and planned.

Anxious, but confident that after the v12 update, other updates will occur more quickly.

I think this is most of the problem, people don't realise how big of a change this is in a technical sense.

The Enhance team seems to have a good testing system in place, I can probably bet the features are finished but some bugs have cropped up which need resolving before shipping.

As many people have touched on, v12 is a significant rewrite and has thrown up a number of technical challenges. Each of these has added significant development time. V12 is currently undergoing extensive testing and as with all release our prirority is to provide a stable release.

Thanks for your post - much appreciated. Even I am also a little bit disappointed by the delay, I truly believe that my recent move to Enhance with my customers was a good one, instead of going with the usual suspects like DA, cPanel etc.
For me, I prefer a stable release instead of something unfinished and buggy, which cause more trouble than wait a little bit longer - hope for october 🙂

This message says it all, folks. It's clear that the Enhance team is working hard to ensure that v12 is both stable and reliable upon release. Pushing for an early release could lead to issues down the line that we'd all prefer to avoid. As frustrating as delays can be, it's always better to wait for a well-tested and polished product.

Adam told me that they were 2-3 weeks away from release about 18 days ago, and while we're close to that window, software development timelines can sometimes shift. If it takes an extra week to iron out any remaining challenges, I think it’s worth the wait.

Let’s continue to trust the team to deliver the quality we’ve come to expect and give them the space to focus on the release without rushing them.
