I suggest the Enhance team assign a person for regular contact with customers on the forum. I’m not talking about support, but about providing information on updates and progress. At least once a week.

I think it does not even have to be on the forum, there are various ways this could be implemented.

Keep the roadmap updated not not just change it a few days before the end of the month because it is delayed. No communication to your customers will cause complaining. It takes 2 - 10 minutes (depending on how fast you type) to just write a short update if there is a delay.

Some items in the release need further work, unfortunately we have to delay the update.
Then change status on roadmap to delayed
Simple change of the roadmap status wording eg planning, in progress, delayed, still keep scheduled status for future updates.

Don't overdo it. One update on the forum per week is 15-30 minutes. A company is not just about developers, but also about customer service and customer trust. For several months now, version 12.0.0 has been delayed by another month without any information about its progress. There's no information at all, and then we just see another month added to the roadmap. Sorry, but that's not how you build a good brand. This is no longer a 1-2 month delay but much longer; we are receiving conflicting information that the update is almost ready, and then shortly after it's +2 months and no information at all.

ecknz I agree with you, this whole delay and lack of updates about it, make me think that something is wrong on enhance HQ , definitely not good for marketing , November is almost gone and there is no update about the release , meanwhile there are major updates that haven't been done on external apps , causing security issues ...

This isn’t basic web development with a single stakeholder in a private setting; it’s a complex project. I wouldn’t want to disclose issues and bugs that could lead to security vulnerabilities in a public forum.

If we were to receive updates, they might simply state that there are delays, and we don’t know how long they will last—perhaps another week or two, depending on the next bug or issue that arises. It’s important to remember that we are end users, not investors.

Instead of demanding transparency that may not be appropriate, let’s reflect on our own expectations. Why do some of us feel so emotionally affected by missed estimated release dates? Let’s focus on supporting the team rather than adding pressure. Patience is a virtue, and our expectations need to be tempered accordingly.

I do think the metaphors used were wrong. But I can think of the perfect one..
You know when you're at a train station, and you see people getting up to look to see if the train is coming? Even though the train 100% will stop. This is like that.. 😃

paying customers just want an update, to know what's going on. or else it's just like cpanel, without any information, and you get updates whenver they want with whatever they want.

nobody is attacking Enhance Team. some info, a reply is a matter of respect. that's it.

Anyone who has lost customers because of using enhance as there sole panel, has only themselves to blame. No offence but you wouldn't understand that you're not even in the hosting business. It's not that expensive to run concurrent plesk or cpanel servers for customers that aren't happy! $10 - 20 a month Plesk server with Ionos. heck even a cpanel reseller account can be dirt cheap to wait it out.

And what does my suggestion concern? Informing clients about progress? Do we have any information from Enhance about the progress of their work? You know as much about version 12.0.0 as I do, which is nothing. So step out of your bubble. You don’t even have a clue at what stage their work is, because there’s no information about it. Enlighten us, expert, on what stage version 12.0.0 is at, since you’re so knowledgeable about rewriting architecture. You are the ignorant one, not even knowing at what stage of work the Enhance team is.

How hard do you think it is going to be to go from docker based service architecture to a systemd based one? Whilst it's on live production servers. Moving away from a docker based system back to systemd will make config management far easier, deployment arguably better... but that 'transition' itself without breaking things, that, I can tell you now is no small feat! I am literally cringing at the sheer amount of work and testing that's involved.

You're stamping your feat because you wasn't spoon feed that an update is delayed. Get over it. Thing is they don't OWE you any update. The roadmap is there, it's an ESTIMATE and yes it's missed it's target a number of times. Some of these features are years behind when they was "Scheduled" so what. It's their product. Doesn't give you the right to demand "Developer Updates" Grow up.

How many features have missed there "expected" release date, it's extremely common even with enhance. You've been around since 2022, you should know better by now. Stop F5'ing the release notes pages every day and it will come quicker. (I am excited just as much as others when updates come, and have an almost permanent tab open too)

This request IS putting pressure on the team, they don't need it and the update will come when it's good and ready. Given the sheer complexity of this release, I am not surprised it's got significantly delayed and instead of moaning about it. I just wish them all the best, knowing their being extra cautious and diligent. I know releases will come faster once this hurdle has been overcome.

I like the community helping each other keep things updated as best we can whilst their dealing with this complex issue. Every release of theirs goes through 100's of hours of build testing, right now all focus for them is likely on this v12. Diverted attention will only cause compounded delays.
