Provide an option to disable or hide the File Manager in the Customer Panel.

Example: In some cases, we provide closed systems or websites where we want the client to have access to managing Enhance and email but without the ability to view or copy files.

1+ for this feature to be used only if am hosting just domain lets say or just email services or just database services, but blocking user to access his files I won’t like.
The way I won’t like my bank to block my access to my money…

If you give any kind of ssh/php access a user could essentially use a "file manager" ie Wordpress, Joomla etc etc.

Still, I can see some cases where a File Manager is not what you want to provide. Perhaps this control could be via a Settings > Packages >

xyzulu Yes, it would be best if this option were available in the package settings. SSH access can be disabled in the package settings.

If a customer has no file level access they probably won’t need to use any backups 😉

+1 For example, as we have a custom Site Builder we don't want the users to be able to edit the files but only access the emails. This will perfectly fit every managed site or site builder for which they should not have access.

Kosta Breach of contract and something being illegal are two different things. Just because you block a feature in a system doesn't mean that you lock clients away from their data. There are a lot of services that requires you to send a data request to get access to your data. And laws are different everywhere in the world.

+1 based on User Roles. Also a User Role for every email to manage Out of Office messages, Black/ Whitelist and get the possibility to change and reset the Password
