Aliysa_Enhance thanks for your reply, I mean it. And I get having to defend each release isn’t fun for you are all. I wasn’t planning to comment on this release until your post earlier about bugs and features being prioritised.

I am still confused though, you confirm some of the high priority bugs that have existed since v12, but language packs and minor enhancements are all we seem to see these days.

And yes, I am not personally that concerned about the minor ui things you mention, I think they just keep coming up each time a release comes out that doesn’t include any important bugs being fixed. It seems easier to release a language pack than fix a regression bug from v12.

I wish you were more active around here.. and I wish we have had more open and honest communication. Though, that is your choice I guess.. we’re just the consumers. Ironically, some of us do know enhance fairly well and could be great assets to your business.

xyzulu Language packs are not something taking up much time from the Enhance team, these are mainly contributions from the community (I did the Norwegian one btw) and put into the following update when released anyway.

It's down to prioritisation again. Fixes, along with enhancements have been included in each release since 12.0.30. They are not enhancements or fixes for bugs which have got the most airtime on the forum but, they touch the most customers (for example less than 20% of our user base uses S3), are end user facing, cause tonnes of support, help meet commercial goals etc. It's a balancing act and there are only so many dev hours in a sprint. We're getting to them, I promise you that.

I more do managed hosting on Enhance I think its a bit to early to say things I am happy with the product. Longer term we see if the planned features will still come this year.

I personally think they removed the dates from the roadmap because they already promised 2 years things that did not happen or got a different timeline this is why they removed the dates more in my opinion.

Every major panel has investors and shareholders its just a bit more visible here but still I think its going the right way if after september some features are still missing they have slowed compared to the earlier roadmap but now to early to say in my opinion I also make websites and hired programmers before for custom projects its easy to make mistakes with deadlines.

Think if more people come on enhance and pay for it and they add a developer more or 2 it can go faster.

So long the bugs get fixed and can edit OLS soon with the groupware mailboxes and sso login. I would be pretty happy this year. But if they can't make groupware but the rest I am fine aswell. As I have a mailcow for groupware.

Unmanaged webhosting? maybe later find it a bit to early for that and have to switch invoice system to like hostbill already busy enough myself.

Backups are not reliable anymore, restore is not working as it should be, if disaster happens users are relying on backups and if they have to do extra hassle of troubleshooting why im seeing duplicate data after resore and so on..
cloning doesn't work, it breaks for no reason
even if we can install additional pecl extensions, we can't enable two or more extensions at the same time, we lost one lead because they wanted object cache pro and to setup it we need to have Phpedis, igbinary, zstd modules enabled in parallel, we tried to convince our lead to allow us to setup another server outside of cluster but they lost trust already because of this mess..
another important backup feature - backup browsing so users can restore individual/specific files, one of our user was so pissed at us because he had few sub-domains probably CRM or something under one website he had to restore whole website four times because they were deploying project on main domain and few things gone wrong... they gave us example of jetbackup so many times i was so frustrated... and please don't say you can go into backup server and restore files for them, lets be practical, this is not feasible solution..
sub-domain as a separate website confuses users on so many levels, nameserver notice never goes away, upon migration dns entry has to be changed manually if main domain exist and connected to cloudflare
cloudflare dns two way sync! if user adds cloudflare it wipes all records at cloudflare and user gets frustrated!

These are few of the required features which needs immediate attention over language packs. We know what wide market wants, we spent 12+ years in this industry serving clients and closely worked with panels and eco-systems like cpanel, plesk, DA, cloudlinux for years so i think as per our experience we understand few things if not much, and there are more experienced users here like @xyzulu who's offering feedback out of his experience and i think enhance should use that...

Agree. And minor changes to language packs don't even need to be mentioned, it's just fluffing up the release notes.

If Enhance was a backup product, yes, it would be important. Jetbackup is a backup product that works on hosting panels so I don't think it's a fair comparison. The backup feature is a core feature, you're asking for a specific feature within a core feature. There are other core features that need to be fixed or implemented, such as cloning which I think is a bigger priority.

This is functioning as it was intended, extending it doesn't seem like a high priority when backups don't work.

The need to update language packs is exclusively driven by users who kindly share edits. Time permitting within a sprint packs can be updated - they require very little dev time.

He mentioned 6 “required” features, and 4 of them are about backups, cloning, and cloudflare sync features that most big-name panels don’t offer out of the box either, or offer them but not working great like in enhance. You usually need third-party tools for that. FWIW, backups are working great for me on Enhance v12, not sure why some folks are having trouble. But yeah, totally agree, bug fixes should definitely be the priority right now.

Apart from the language pack fluff, my biggest issue is currently I am constantly having to restart containers - every two or days, and backups do not work properly anymore, they're so broken.

Kosta Extend the ‘create website’ endpoint to allow an application to be installed at point of website creation.

The hosting package was suppose to do this, however it never worked. But I still agree it would be nice to pick what software to install when creating a site.

mah1952 S3 Backups aren't working after upgrading to v12, you have to edit the S3 bucket and save it for the backups to start working again. Previous backups aren't showing however 🙁

If we do business with 'shouldn't use this product if something is not working as expected because i don't want to disturb product devs by asking to add one simple feature which will help both' mindset then my friend you will have more expenses in your business than profits..

Big players are investing fortune on setups like cpanel + cloudlinux + jetbackup only because users ask for these things, and im not asking for investing millions to introduce a small but required feature!

I agree jetbackup is a backup only product, and it's so obvious no one can ask enhance to do jetbackup level improvements, im just asking to add browsing feature and fyi if enhance can do it for deleted sites then they can do for live backups as well...

pratik_asabe to be honest if you have more than 300 websites per server which is fairly common on shared hosting CL ,DA jetbackup works better than enhance and is cheaper .

I think big providers will take some time before change to enhance .

Enhance stands out for multi servers, and easy if migration (which is lacking proxying ), but apart from those things has nothing more to offer .

If DA or any of the other panels had an easy way to migrate websites as enhance I wouldn't personally be using enhance .

Now other problems I have with enhance is ::
Resource user limits are malfunctioning
Redis is crashing for user and never comes back until toggling on and off
Random oom kills
VERY high ram usage compared to DA - Cl setup
Lsphp is not handled by litespeed itself and that's another can of warms with result of core as an example if a website gets 503 error litespeed will restart on other panels and website gets back online , ofcourse then you have to fix the issue, in enhance it will hit 503 for infinity time , other panels run php as an external app in enhance ls run in native mode not sure if that's the mistake .

Website containers should not be allowed to use swap, enhance has no option to limit it or disable it .
Nginx is another can of worms .. I can go on and on ...
There are no indicators that those issues will be fixed this year .

But we got php 4-5 support

If it were a simple feature, it would have been done already 🙂 You're pushing your requirements, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea for the entire customer base at this time. There are core features that are broken, and I'm pretty sure addressing those is going to be a better use of time.

You assumed my mindset, take a beat and put yourself in the shoes of others. Enhance doesn't work for your requirements, cPanel does. You're not doing anything different than what other customers have, your feature request is most likely not going to be implemented. Maybe ask if you can fund the feature?

You know deleted sites are just marked as deleted and still on the server? You're talking about viewing files on a backup server within a container. It's just just a line of code, if it was then don't you think they would have done it?
