Thank you @Adam, this would be better. Atleast for people who are using emails on the same server, this is very important.
Does disk quota also apply to emails?
Adam Does the disk hard limits include MySQL databases? Or is it only the website's home directory?
Also, just to clarify, the size we see in the /wesites page in the last column. What services sizes does it cover? Is that Websites + MySQL + Emails?
In any case, where can we see clearly all the usage values? Would be nice to have a centralized place to have this info.
I never asked before, but I guess we need an explanation of what happens when:
Client on 10Gb storage plan
1 The client is using web hosting as file storage, going over 10Gb. What is the panel doing at this point? if no hard limit is set. Allows the client to fill up the server over the 10Gb? (if so, that is super bad)
2 The client is using email accounts hosted on a different server (dedicated role), and email storage is over 10Gb what is the outcome? Will Enhance or stop a particular service? What is the push for the client to upgrade?
If the client can continue and use 100**Gb storage on the plan of 10Gb paid is a killer move, I want to buy that
I am interested in the outcome of the above scenarios as we lease servers with finite Storage, and we can not give it for free due to the software's inability to count it
If someone knows these answers (time saved) I do appreciate it. Otherwise I have to test them myself:
mendozal For the hard disk limit it's just the website's home directory
Aliysa_Enhance Thank you Alysa.
It would be nice to have a centralized place to see all user/package/subscription usage, including website+email+database, etc. Even if they are soft limits. Or even having a notification.
That way, we can take quick action when a user exceeds their limits. Would you consider this a request?
Thanks.

This is a Must Have, a page where we can get accurate filters on accounts over limits / also, in time, some limitations should be applied,
For if an account is over quota regardless of email / file/ db
The client should not be able to upload any more files on that website.
Email notifications to the client,
Maybe in time, email functionality stopped (google does that and any other proper paid provider) (you over your upgrade, or it stops)
If the above is not implemented, I have asked myself why do I sell 1Gb, 10 Gb 100Gb packages when a 1Gb package can do the same thing as the 100Gb account without repercussions!
I just managed to upload 6 Gb on a 3 Gb account and actually keep it there (as a test.)
I will fill up an email account and leave it there for a while to see what reporting we have for now. (as a test)
I admit, I am not in the business of offering free stuff
I think that the subscription should make sure that the client has the data limit, i.e. clients emails, databases, application, etc. As mike has mentioned, the subscription should cover the entire quota, and not different quotas for different roles.
As providers, it will be impossible for us to keep an eye on everything.
For those who are hosting email on a separate server, they can limit the mailboxes to a limited size.
the package or suscription space limit should be web files, database and mail data, all under the one single limit.
In my opinion, not the limiting is the issue but the reporting and actioning of the outcome (going over quota on all services)
In order I think what is needed is:
- Counting total storage - files (all folders from "/of account, not just public_html) + Mysql + Emails
(this needs to be done in a reliable way) can not be too hard, a little corn to collect this data going in the background few times a day. - A page where we can see (the aggregated data) and filter all accounts accordingly (be able to see) what's over etc.
3 . Ability for punishment (in settings, we should be able to setup automation like (if the account is over quota: Stop email service, block uploads, or whatever is suitable to make the client clean up the account or upgrade))
Google does it for emails, and others do it. It must work! - Ability to easily upgrade the account (as a client) (this is already working)
Maybe I missed something But I guess, as a minimum, if the above is implemented, to some extent, we all would have a lot less work.
Isaia-Arknet_PTY_LTD I agree with you.
I'd like to be able to sell 20, 30 gigs and give clients free reign over that storage space for anything they want to do (emails, databases, files), and have enhance enforce that.
@Isaia-Arknet_PTY_LTD perfectly said. This is how it is done everywhere, and this is how we would like it to be with Enhance.
I have a client with a three gb Website size and 185gb e-mails. (around ten mailboxes).
I am charging him for the total size. (Website + emails)
It's important to count mailbox size and website(account size) even if they are not on the same server. (even without active hard limits for the mail but showing notification or the total size) Or, in the future, to count the total size if we have all of them on the same server.
+1 to a lonnnnng term roadmap of cross server subsciption sync of size limits. Nice to have, but difficult to implement.
I spoke to Adam about this recently via ticket. It was mentioned that if you use a fixed mailbox size the space isn't included in the website quota however if you use "dynamic" instead it would be counted towards the quota, so it would include emails, files and the database.
Maybe @Adam can confirm that's correct?
