10.2.0 added the activity log which logs actions taken within the Enhance panel as well as backups (and more importantly backup failures). We will continue to improve this feature to add additional logged items. 10.3.0 (hopefully next week) will add the ability to send notifications to a Slack channel.
appcd 2.2.1 which also releases in the next few days will default PHP error logs to the home directory. It also sends the php-fpm error log there, although this might be of limited value.
The configurable web server access log retention is a little more complex but it will be made available ASAP, we understand this is a priority for many customers.
