Prioritising features is a difficult balancing act for us. Downloadable backups is a feature and somewhat of a bug fix due to the huge volume of support tickets which could easily be resolved by the user if this feature existed.

Steamon Maybe I can suggest creating a beta channel for large features we can test this on our test clusters?

We see the value in BETA testing for larger releases and it's still under consideration.

The fact that there isn't a beta channel is extremely concerning.
It's literally the most proven method of testing... Why would it even be a consideration, it should be directly implemented.

I think removing deadlines is an extremely bad look for Enhance.
ClientExec did this and people are waiting for updates for over 2 years. While the software is going strong, new features seem to never be coming.

There is no denying the value in BETA testing, but it's not a simple yes/no decision. For the channel to be effective there are a number of other factors that need to be considered and/or in place. For example... challenges around supporting different versions, changes to release cycles... these all take time.

This isn't a path we plan to take with Enhance and hope in time with our releases that we can prove it.

Aliysa_Enhance I understand this is not a path you want to take with enhance, but there are bugs that effect quality of life since last year if no longer, this one's arend mentioned in the release log , so when we are getting a fix ?

Keep in mind is been a year for most of them now, how is that different from what client ext did? .

gmakhs Past what has been mentioned above, I don't know much about the direction of ClientExec so I cant really comment any further on that.

We will be including a combination of bug and or logic/UI improvements and new features in each release. Known bugs are not included in the 'Approved' features list (this is only features.) You will also see additional releases for critical bug fixes outside of the 'Under development' release.

It would be great if we had a "Known Bugs" section maybe - knowing that someone is working on it.
Quality of life of backups has been horrendeous from the get-go.
Not being able to delete a backups, not being able to exclude sites from backups..
That god damn "Setup Enhance" thing lol

Please Add the following to the current development process, while developers minds are into Backups complete whole backups features and issues then move to next target - Mail or DNS etc:
It will save you a lot of time, costs!

|Incremental backups using other storage kinds (FTP/SSH).

Aliysa_Enhance Then perhaps a public listing of "known bugs" that have lasted many months if not longer, would be a good idea. I realize you cannot publish an internal bug-tracker due to potential security concerns, but even a pinned forum topic with some input from your team would be helpful.

But, I do agree with the need to address basic features and bugs first.

Mini rant on:
We have no regrets moving to v12, we got the one thing we needed from it, the ability to migrate the control panel server (which had been promises for a long long time). The solution to BTRFS bottlenecks is also appreciated and was needed. Apart from that v12 has not changed much for us (yes, better resources usage) day to day, honestly it's given our customers nothing they didn't have before. v12 was a huge deal code wise, so I do think Enhance deserves credit for that. The way things now run is superior to the docker way. You can see that v12 has also enabled us (community/Enhance customers) to come up with more tools of our own faster than Enhance can roll out (no idea why Enhance developers are not watching and using some of these things), so again, no regrets.

I can't help but feel v12 was developed by a different team/person than previous versions. Yes, Adam is his usual excellent self in tickets, but it does seem that perhaps there were a number of development changes in terms of management and ability to scale up perhaps (I'm just guessing all this since we are not provided much information). I will feel better when I start to see frequent releases including bug fixes and long time promised/needed features. We keep getting told this.. even before v12 was out we were told everything is on hold for that.. now that hurdle is cleared and we are still on hold. I'm not trying to stoke fear, but more to say that I suspect there are things at play we have not been made aware of.

I spend a lot of time rechecking my enhance tickets to see if a bug I come across again has been reported to you yet. How are we expected to know if you guys are aware of a bug or not? I’d maintain the list for you here if you like, just allow me to edit my post.

I can’t believe customizations made in OLS persisting is not a priority. That should be under development right now.

thekendog what's not to believe about it, there are zero panels that have that feature, Enhance will be the first lol. They've put a lot of attention on OLS the last few updates too, so I wouldn't be surprised if they shelved it for a while to give NGINX some attention.

thekendog the point is that people have actually critical needs right now - logs, backups, email, etc. Those critical features need more attention before going after "groundbreaking new features that no panel on the planet has ever seen before". It's only common sense.

Also, NGINX needs a persistent config as well, so we should prioritize OLS over NGINX because? If you really need persistent config for Litespeed, ELS is an option - wpfence also posted a solution for OLS persistent config as well. Meanwhile NGINX users have nothing... I don't even use NGINX, I'm just being realistic.

xyzulu meh I don't consider runcloud to be a "control panel" since you have to manage everything from within their website. It's like "SaaS server management", like Cloudways, not the same thing :p

Man the fact that BACKUPS aren't on the number 1 priority seems to be a joke.
It is the backbone of any hosting businses.

The backup system has so many issues, and it's not even classed as under development?

Backups take up more storage than they used to
Can't seem to transfer backup role efficiently from server to server
Can't exclude sites from backup
Can't manage backups (deleting / seeing how much space they're taking per site website)
Can't control S3 backups
Can't separate backup scheduling per country / per server / per package / per website

Backups are a core feature and it's not.. being fixed.
PHP5 which no-one should be bloody using is?
What's next a PS1 emulator?

slimx I am really puzzled about PHP support too, such old script if they are still used are better off hardened PHP versions of CLnot normal PHP and even in there i wouldn't run them.... @Aliysa_Enhance can we get some answer on all this questions ? There are very valid points

slimx I understand that the older PHPs aren’t a popular request amongst some but only a small percentage of our user base is active on the community. We have many users waiting to consolidate onto the Enhance platform and for this to happen the older PHP versions are needed.

We currently have a couple of backup features under development. As I touched on before, these particular backup features have been prioritised because of the number of support issues they will help resolve. There are many more backup related features ‘approved’ and other which are ‘logged’ (many of the features you mention included).

Initially we saw a few issues with storage but I believe these are all now resolved. If you are seeing an increase, can you please make sure every server has the latest version and then, on the panel server, run ecp update-http-disabled-status

If you don’t see any improvements, please send a ticket and we’ll take a look at this for you.

I am also very sad about missing timelines on the roadmap.
For me, the future of Enhance development becomes unpredictable due to the lack of communication. From my view it is not a good move, to cancel any timelines for the future, just because they failed on the timelines before. As suggested by others, a quarterly timeline should be used as minimum.

PHP5 is really that important over other stuff ?

Do agreed with the fact that I have 0 people with php 5 anything under php 7 I first tell the programmer to update his code before even allowing it on my servers. This should be last on the list for this year in my opinion.

1st Back-up system finishing and bug fixing

2nd ui and other bug fixes

3rd Then new features again like openlitespeed edits and php updates and groupware / agenda / contacts in roundcube.

4th further laravel support and other systems.

IP blocking for e-mail also a importent one while cpfence can do that.

I use enhance mostly for Wordpress websites and it works good out of the box for me.
